With Over 20 years in the working dog community, Dwayne has provided customer service in various global environments. His love and passion for working with dogs are evident in the results he gets with his science-based training methods. He has been blessed to work alongside many wonderful men and women that have mentored him along his path with training and utilizing canines for public service. One of his passions is pioneering pipeline leak detection dogs.

Continued threats of bombings and shootings loom over public safety. Security is a wise investment for public and private functions to ensure public safety is a constant need. As with any of our services, BCK-9 is committed to providing a safe and secure environment with a professional, minimally intrusive yet visible presence. K-9 teams who are visible to the public augment existing security measures and deter potential criminal activity.

We require your representative to accompany the K-9 team throughout the search. If there is more than one K-9 team, we require that you provide an observer for each team.

Pipeline Leak Detection

Using canines for detection services historically supersedes science-based applications because of the sensitivity of a dog's nose. BCK-9 will detect and pinpoint the smallest of leaks in pipelines buried, above ground, or within residential and business buildings. We're the best at providing this service to clients. BCK-9 is both cost-effective and the most reliable means to detect, locate, and resolve leaks within pipelines.

We're available for emergency responses for both detecting leaks and preventative inspections for clients. Our precision process is tried and true. The approximate detection time will vary depending on variables that are unique to every job site. BCK-9 customizes our course-of-action to every client and every call.

Our K9's are highly trained and professionally selected for attributes that are needed in this type of service. They're trained on industry-approved odorants, hydrocarbons, and H20 water leaks and average a 10 miles (16km) search range per dog.

Each BCK-9 agreement receives at least two trained working dogs. This allows our K9 to rest between searches, improving reliability in detecting hard to find micro-leaks.

BCK-9 is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) located 180 Heather Lane, Decatur, Texas 76234.

Dwayne Farris served in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer, assigned to be a Military Working Dog Handler. Upon the honorable completion of active duty, he continued as a reservist for the U.S. Marine Corps Military Police Detachment located in Wahpeton, North Dakota as a squad leader. He was later promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Dwayne served in multiple operational canine positions, including:

- Explosives
- Narcotics
- Patrol and Combat Tracking
- Presidential Dignitary Protection
- Operation Golden Spear Nairobi, Kenya
- Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom
- U.S. Aviation Operations for the Federal government.

Through BCK-9, he offers civilians his expansive experience and knowledge about K9 training and working dog capabilities.

Excellence And Professionalism

As a civilian contractor, Dwayne operated for various high-profile U.S.-based security companies deployed to support Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served as a Combat Canine Tracking Handler, Trainer, Kennel Master, and Program Manager.

His most recent experience was as the field-based Supervisory Subject Matter Expert working for TSA as the Regional Canine Coordinator for Region 5 based in Seattle, WA. In that position, he regionally oversaw all National Explosive Detection Canine Training Program assigned canine teams.

For the Pacific Northwest area of operations, he served as a Regional Canine Training Instructor for the NEDCTP.

Prior to joining the TSA, Dwayne was a Multi-Purpose Canine Trainer at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, for a special operations unit training and deploying K-9 teams in support of world-wide missions.
